What’s in my {Beach} Bag?

When you live in LA, people seem to have the expectation that you spend every moment of every weekend at the beach. What a lot of people don’t realize is how huge LA is, and personally, it takes me over an hour to even get to the beach. In the past, this has kept me from making frequent visits but now that I have a toddler in tow I’m trying to make it a priority to get out to Venice or Malibu at least once a month to enjoy the sun and sea with my family. In addition to the large amount of kid items we tote along with us, I like to make sure I’m well covered, too, so I keep a beach bag packed with essentials to help me feel cared for as well. A retro swimsuit, a ‘girl-power’ summer read, a pashmina that can serve as a sarong during the day and a wrap when the sun goes down, and a bottle of Starbucks to keep my energy up while I play in the sun all afternoon with two little boys. Heaven.
