Trend Report: March

Though my favorite season is fall, I’ve always been partial to the month of March. Growing up in the Midwest, March meant spring was almost here. March showers melt the last of the snow and flowers (and wardrobes) begin to bloom.

Spring fashion also tends to brings out the uber girl in me. Last year we saw pastels and polka dots but this year expect to embrace your inner athlete. Find the balance in sporty pieces by choosing feminine fabrics and prints such as bright florals or bold stripes.

Check out my latest must-have styles that will keep you trendy (and dry) this rainy month of March!

1. Melon Lips

Light lips made a huge splash on the February red carpets and will be a big color this spring. Melon will compliment those mint must-haves from last year (yes, you can most definitely still wear mint in 2013). Swipe lips with Lancôme Rouge in Love – Jolis Matins to brighten up a rainy day.

2. Nude Cat Eye Sunnies

With all the trends you’ll find yourself in this spring, keep your sunnies timeless with this pair by Raen (ironically). The cat eye shape remains a classic, but try a nude or blush shade for a more modern take.

3. Sophisticated Sportswear

Baseball caps and wedge sneakers are making a fashion statement as of late, adding a cool casual touch to the most glam looks. Pair this sweatshirt sweater from Madewell with a flouncy skirt and pointed heels, or toss your locks into a top bun, bold printed pants for a different take on ‘tomboy’.

4. Rain Boots

I have two pairs of wellies, and in LA, that’s almost two pairs too many. I also confess there are about three more pairs that I wish were in my closet. This red lace-up pair from Hunter packs big-style punch and a Hunter wellie will never go out of style.

5. Wallpaper Print Pants

Print pants. Print pants. If there is one trend all MOVErs should have this year, I strongly suggest investing in a pair. Structured trousers or bohemian wide-leg fit, neutral or bright colors, floral or graphic print, bold or muted patterns. The options are endless! I am loving this pair from H&M.
