June is officially upon us and I, for one, am thrilled. Not only has it truly begun to actually feel like summer, but if wedding season were a race, this would be the starting line. Getting all dolled up for such joyous occasions is a welcome departure from my day to day uniform of jeans and tees, however, the loose interpretations of suggested dress codes can definitely make finding the perfect ensemble a bit more challenging. After careful consideration, this is what I decided to look like for my friends big day next week. Cheers!
My jaw dropped when I found this exceptional dress by Matthew Williamson. I’m always on the search for a unique piece that will stand apart from the mundane sea of black cocktail dresses and waves of flowing chiffon prints. The most important criteria in a dress, for me, is that it’s appropriate for the event, unfussy, comfortable, tasteful and something you can drunkenly dance the night away in.
There’s just no getting around eyewear when vows are outside and the sun has yet to fully set. I mean, we made all the effort to be there, we might was well see what’s happening! My feeling is that your sunnies shouldn’t fight or distract from the rest of your look, and these by Cynthia Rowley do just that.
I go back and forth between piling it on and keeping it simple when jewelry is concerned for such an event. Lately, across the board, I’ve been into incredibly simple and dainty gold jewelry. I’m especially obsessed with these rings from In God We Trust. I bought multiple of the thin gold ring and wear on many fingers; stacked or solo. It comes in a wide variety of sizes as well making it a no brainer for a sophisticated first knuckle option. I never take mine off.
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the clutch but know that in certain circumstances there’s really just no getting around it. So, when I know I need one I am incredibly picky and felt like I had won some sort of bag lottery when I came across this one. It’s considerably more spacious than the shape leads you to believe which allows for more than just a credit card and room key, thank you very much!
The right shoe selection is vital! Yes, of course, they need to be gorgeous but especially on days like these, they need to be functional as well. I’m sure we’ve all ditched our heels at the tail end of receptions, but there’s quite a bit of standing, walking around, mingling and dancing that requires footwear in the top of the event. Givenchy totally nailed it with these rose gold mirrored beauties which play very nicely with the ombré sequined skirt.
