Trend Report: Fall into Style

Trend Report: Fall into Style

Fall has long been one of my favorite seasons of the year. I am hypnotized with the magical beauty of leaves changing color and am filled with love from everything fall has to offer. It’s amazing that a slight drop in temperature has such an effect on our social lives and activities. For me it’s more staying home, snuggling close with the one I love, hosting dinner parties, sitting in front of the fire, taking walks through Central Park, apple picking, trips upstate and of course, changing up the wardrobe! This time of year I want everything I wear to be comfortable and feel like a big hug. I stick to neutrals often and let the vibrant colors of nature take the lead. I’ve basically been living in a version of this look lately, and am loving every minute if it!

1. Sweater

I love grey. I really love grey. I wear it constantly. I decorate with all shades from platinum to steel. I go on searches for a particular dark grey Kleenex box for my bathroom. It’s become a joke with my co-workers and I don’t care. It evokes fall and coziness for me and I’m not stopping. Rag & Bone won my grey little heart with this sweater. It’s amazing alone and the perfect weight for layering once fall turns to winter. The ‘borrowed from the boys’ look with a feminine cut and luxe fabrication is everything I’ve ever wanted.

2. Jeans

We all have more jeans than we can count and every time I buy a new pair I can’t imagine that I ever survived without them. I’ve been a huge fan of Acne and this is the pair that now has me pondering the above. Simple, clean, classic, perfect. There’s nothing else to say, they speak for themselves.

3. Leather Jacket

I am hard pressed to find another leather jacket that walks both sides of the tough and ladylike lines like this one does.  Not only is the color fresh and sophisticated, but the hand and drape on this work of art is absolutely incredible. It’s all about the detail here, unexpected gold zippers on the back, soft shoulder pleating and the slightest crinkling effect truly make this a special find.

4. Booties

Booties are key all year round and although I hate to admit, stilettos aren’t always practical. I am incredibly picky about shoes and fell in love with these immediately. The cut of the ankle gives them unique interest while remaining simple enough to wear everyday with everything.

5. Bag

And now we turn to an incredibly delicious bag for that rich pop of color all these neutrals deserve! Nancy Gonzales is well known for her vibrant pigmentations, luxurious textures, and superior quality. Her bags are instant trend classics and we can see why. LOVE that she did a shoulder strap with this style, allowing us to go casually crossbody during the day with a top handle option for the evening. Versatility is key and looking effortlessly-chic isn’t so bad either.
