Trend Report: December

December is the one month out of the whole year that’s truly about giving and selflessness, but when shopping for the ladies in my life, whether it be family members or best friends, I always find myself in a dressing room! It’s just so hard to pass up on all the steals and deals throughout the month.

The key to shopping for yourself this month is to focus on your holiday schedule: Where are you are you going for the holidays? What is the weather going to be like? Will the item serve multiple purposes for the season?

Since my holiday vacation brings me home to the midwest each year, my SoCal wardrobe doesn’t exactly fit the frigid temperatures and low-key nights. (Or fit in my suitcase!) No matter where your travels during the holiday season may take you this month, my five must-have trends will work for any girl on the go!

1. Statement Necklace
This Anthropologie necklace incorporates all my favorite colors of winter. Wear with a sheer button-up blouse in trend pale pink or winter white with a light washed jean and leopard and you’ll be on my best dressed list! Or go completely glam and add it to your sequin mini on NYE!

2. Pointed Cap Toe Pump
Finding the perfect pair has proven to be somewhat of a challenge, however I am lusting for this pair by Chinese Laundry. Paired with jeans and a sexy sweater it’s perfect for holiday bar-hopping with old friends;  for a leg-lengthening effect, throw on a simple LBD for a holiday work party.

3. Velvet

4. Metallic Accessories

Keep it low key with colored cords and western booties, or go ultra-girly with a trumpet skirt, (yes, a trumpet skirt), and strappy heels in a pop of color!

5. Chunky Sweater
Dressed up or worn with printed long johns on Christmas morning, this Juicy Couture sweater’s, (dare I say), turtleneck serves as a built-in scarf.
