3 Hot Tips for Summer Music Festivals

Well, kids, it’s music festival season! (You know, like hipster Christmas for all the music-lovers of the land.) Spring kicks off the start of the biggest annual music festivals, which run all the way to fall. Whether you’re trekking to the California dessert to Coachella, heading to the Windy City to see Lollapalooza, or hitting one of the Warped Tour dates, be sure you’re festival-ready with our hot tips.

1. Make a Fashion Statement

Music and fashion go hand-in-hand, so it’s no surprise that Coachella has become an unofficial fashion show for the haute hippies and slick hipsters. Clothiers from Nordstrom to Forever 21 are capitalizing on this annual trend, so finding something fashionable to flaunt is a snap no matter what your budget. Be sure to dress in layers, and bring a wide-brimmed hat to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your head. Tote a jacket in case the evenings are cool.

2. Watch Out for the Elements

While you may remember to apply sunscreen before you head to the show in the morning, the thought to retouch may escape you once the first beat drops. Set a reminder alert on your phone to lather back up after lunch. Bring enough water to stay hydrated between all the beers.

3. Supply Up

With the sheer number of attendees at music festivals, it’s likely the restrooms will run out of toilet paper and soap. Bring your own stash of t.p., along with handi-wipes or sanitizer. Tote a mini spray bottle of Evian to keep yourself refreshed throughout the day.
