Sheryl Sandberg Before She Banned “Bossy”

Women are underestimating their abilities.

Women are opting out before they’ve even begun.

This is the reality that Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, author, and women’s activist, wants to change. Before she wrote her bestselling book, Lean IN, and coined the phrase “ban bossy,” she made a wish for women on the TED stage. It’s a reminder that the messages we tell ourselves, each other, and our daughters, are important. Changing that messaging may be just what we need to make a place for ourselves, as women, at the table.
