As someone who travels for work at least twice a month, I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about how I can make my next trip more efficient, less stressful, and let’s admit it, more stylish. In fact, one of the first big purchases I ever made was a matching set of DVF luggage. I ordered two suitcases, the wardrobe bag and tote online based solely on their look, (polka-dot hearts – I was 23). I didn’t factor in how HEAVY these beautiful things were, so eventually they went the way of the dinosaur. My current luggage consists of a simple black carry-on and a laptop bag that stacks on top. If I have to add checked luggage, forget it, I’m a mess; I’ve discovered that my elegance and grace are easily chucked out the window if I have to pack for longer than a weekend. In the face of the inevitable chaos that travel brings, I sometimes find myself dreaming of the romantic notions behind that first idealized, matched travel set. The pace of the last two weeks has been non-stop, so this morning I took a breath, poured a cup of coffee and pacified myself with a breezy dream of perfectly coordinated calming neutrals for an imaginary trip to the East Coast. Enjoy my daydream…
