On the Red Carpet: Lucky Fabb
Last week I attended the second annual Lucky Fabb West fashion and beauty bloggers’ conference, and walked the red carpet at the opening night cocktail party.
Although I’m a tomboy by day, I absolutely love the chance to get all dolled up at night and have fun with fashion. My red carpet style leans toward the girlie, and this look was inspired entirely by this gorgeous Tucker skirt in a cream and black abstract print. For some bizarre reason, despite consisting of two of the biggest fashion no-nos for petites like me (1. maxi skirts, 2. pleats) this skirt works! I was thrilled to find it, because it reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday and I felt absolutely beautiful wearing it. I brought my friend Joy to the party with me, met the charming Drew Barrymore, had a delicious cocktail and then we skipped out to go sample AOC‘s new digs, which are lovely. It was a perfect girls’ night on the town.
I paired the skirt with a simple black tank from Madewell, one bold cuff by dannijo, my vintage black linen/leather clutch from A Current Affair, and these killer Tory Burch suede heels that travel solely between my closet and the red carpet because they’re so damn tall.
I had my hair blown out at Drybar, (my new obsession), my pedicure was coral and I went simple on makeup — black cat-eye liner, shimmery neutral shadows, Revlon cream blush in Coral Reef and Pinched, and some sort of pinkish gloss I found at the bottom of my makeup bag. I really love this natural, glowy look for spring!
