This year my itch is being scratched. So far I’ve been to San Francisco, New York, and Atlanta and by July, I’ll have racked up trips to Monaco, Nice, Northern California and three more to Atlanta! Whew. The travel takes its toll on me, especially since I’m pregnant, but I just can’t give it up. Maybe it’s because I know my freedom is about to be radically curtailed in six months, or maybe it’s because I feel so powerful when I travel.
Despite the fatigue, I somehow feel my best when I travel and I think it’s because gathering new experiences gives us energy. I actually love the chaos of the airport and the over-closeness of people and their ridiculous attitudes. (How do they not realize we’re ALL getting on the same plane?) I love eating bagels and watching Friday Night Lights on my iPad. I love that for a few hours, it’s as if time stops. I’m literally disconnected from the world, blissfully flying over everything, unaware in an air-conditioned bubble. It’s a lovely respite from a demanding life of career-toddler-relationships-work-connectedness.
This month, we’re taking you traveling with us. We’ll be talking about how to work while you’re on the road, revealing all sorts of tips for your summer adventures, and hopefully giving you a few moments of your own to disconnect, relax and imagine yourself somewhere high above the chaos of everyday life. Bon voyage!
As summer begins, we’re sharing adventures near and far. We invite you to experience the transformative power of travel with us.
