Editors’ Picks: August
So many fabulous things, so little time! Every month it seems something new grabs our attention: a captivating film, an incredible restaurant, a spectacular hike high above the busy streets of Los Angeles. With so many fun finds, we thought we’d start sharing a list of our current obsessions with you. Here’s what we’re loving this month.
I‘m prepping for a big camping trip in September, so I’m finding myself inspired by all things outdoorsy. (See my Airstream Pinterest board!) This camp stool from Wood & Faulk is so fabulously vintage-perfect and fulfills all my evergreen-scented fantasies.
Ihope this book gets made and that there will be more products like it for little girls to be inspired by science. Even though Grace from Outer Space didn’t get her funding, there was a great outpouring of support from Mashable, Geek Mom, Geek Sugar and other news outlets illustrating that people really do want a story that inspires little girls to follow careers in STEM. The story isn’t over: visit the website for updates and follow Grace from Outer Space on Twitter so that you can be there on the ground floor when this project is re-tooled and relaunched.
I‘ve fallen victim to the Tropical Taboo summer collection from M•A•C Cosmetics. The bold and brazen hues are the perfect compliment to summer sun-kissed skin, with sultry shadows and bright, ripe lips. I can’t stop wearing the Sweet Samba blush, eye shadow in Bossa Blue, and the delicious Divine Choice lipstick, each a daring way to heat up what’s left of these hot summer nights.

We hope the longer days will encourage us all to kick back at least a little bit each day this summer. Take your morning coffee and your laptop onto your porch and enjoy the beautiful weather in the hushed moment before the city wakes up and before the busy day begins. Cheers to summer!
