My arrival in Tuscany felt quite cinematic. I traveled via vintage train that took me from Rome to Tuscany in about four hours. I got to see the more urban parts of Rome, then after a few tunnels later, the Italian countryside revealed herself. There really is no place more romantic than Tuscany. It’s literally impossible not to fall deeply in love with its green rolling hills, old vineyards, lemon trees, villas in the hills… It’s no surprise to me that author Frances Mayes decided to write about a woman finding herself in the book, Under the Tuscan Sun.

The region of Tuscany stretches across the central part of Italy, so there is always a calm breeze, warm sun and a friendly chill at night. I knew my days out and about would be long so I wanted to make sure I had a great transitional outfit to last me from day to night. I wore the ensemble below for our afternoon wine tasting at LOSI Vineyards, followed by a night on the town. The weather was gorgeous during the day, so I wore my flower print dress and a pair of flats that I tucked into my purse for walking on the dirt roads around the vineyard. At night, I threw on my sweater and cork wedges for an enchanting dinner in the old town of Siena, followed by drinks in the Piazza del Campo.
All in all, Tuscany was perfect. I would venture there again any day and maybe even buy myself a dilapitated villa if life takes me in a different direction
