Her blog is addictive, her style is chic but never forced, and her  irresistible Texas charm.

How did you get started as a fashion blogger? Where did you come up with the name, “Damsel in Dior”?
I started blogging in 2009 but began treating it as a business about a year ago. I grew up in a small town in Texas as a farmer’s daughter and often felt like a damsel in distress. I never quite fit in. After moving to Los Angeles I transformed myself into a Damsel in Dior. The word “Dior” doesn’t just represent the brand to me. It represents a lifestyle of confidence, poise and stand out style.

Why is fashion so important to you? What has been your most memorable work experience?
Fashion isn’t as important to me as style. I recently heard a quote: “Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it.” To me, great style should be carried out in everything you do from the toothbrush you own to the dishes you put on your dinner table. As Rachel Zoe said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” My thoughts exactly.

The fashion industry is having more of an online presence, why do you think fashion blogs are becoming women’s go-to?
There are hundreds and thousands of incredible fashion blogs available online that you can’t possibly read them all. Offering this variety in style offers readers a customized take on what they want to see.  “Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it.” If a reader is more preppy than minimalist, then she/he may visit one blog over another. No two blogs are alike, which is why it’s great to offer readers the choice of what they want to read based off of their personal taste. It’s like reading a new magazine everyday {that’s free!}.

What are your must have items for fall?
I just purchased a new [piece by] Céline,{sigh}, and she has quickly become my new favorite item. There’s a great Derek Lam tweed skirt that I am very excited about making the transition into fall with.

Kelly Wearstler is incredible and I can’t get enough of her right now. I just got a denim jacket with studs [by] her and can’t take it off. It’s the perfect day-to-night piece.

What kinds of life and career developments are you looking forward to in the coming year?
Life: Truly settling in to married life. As we approach our 1 year anniversary we’re adjusting to life in our new house, {we just moved!}, and hope to slow our lives down a touch. Less travel and more movie nights and snuggling up with our pups is the plan.
Career: My career goals are to continue blogging for my amazing clients and move forward with Damsel in Dior. I’m hoping to start creating more videos and continue working with great brands on collaborations.
