At Home: Fresh Greens
Ah spring, the season of revival, rejuvenation and romance. With the beginning of buds and blooms this time of year, mother nature also ushers in her most verdant shade, green. Admittedly, green has never been a favorite color of mine, that is until these envious goodies pictured below came into my life. Along with the popularity of mint making waves in the most au currant color palettes, this green trend is really growing on me. Hues in hunter, kelly, jade, army, olive and the on-trend mint have been creeping into my latest and greatest designs. Pair any of those luscious shades with touches of brass and it makes a space instantly spring anew. One of my favorite green trends is the rejuvenation of the Martinique palm fronds pattern á la Beverly Hills Hotel circa 1940 depicted in the demure tray below. Whether it is boldly adorning the walls of a powder room, fabricated as throw pillows to perk up a settee, or a laminated tray placed atop an entry console to act as a catchall, this fauna pattern is the epitome of springing into green. Sink into an overstuffed campaign style arm chair upholstered in soft olive leather for a bit of relaxed sophistication or walk precariously atop Diane Von Furstenberg’s climbing leopard rug to impart some much needed sass to your living room. In a graphic trellis wallpaper or on a bohemian paisley pillow, accents in these green shades will leave visitors ripe with envy.
Greens just in time for spring might be a bit expected, but it certainly will keep your space fresh and fantastic. I can’t wait to have a spring fling with these flourishing furnishings.
