Now that I know that baby #2 is a boy, I’ve been gathering all sorts of inspiration for a cozy room for two little mini-men. I’ve been working with The Land of Nod to create a neutral/outdoors/forest-themed room and I’m so excited to put this room together and share it with you!
I want to instill a love of adventure in my little guys as well as creating a visually calming place for them to come home to, so I’m focusing on neutral colors and clean lines. My philosophy is that kids have enough brightness and energy as it is without further energizing the space with even more color and buzz. Personally I find it quickly becomes visually overwhelming. Here are a few of the pieces from Land of Nod that are going into the room:
I’m already got a GREAT custom addition with this piece created exclusively for us by my dear friend Danielle Krysa, aka The Jealous Curator:
It’s a re-imagined rendering of our family cabin in the mountains and I love it so much! I still have to frame it. Seems like my to-do list is a mile long lately! Danielle is SO talented and she’s currently taking orders for custom house paintings, über-chic and also-pregnant Emily Henderson just ordered one. I think it’s such a beautiful way to commemorate a place that’s special for you or your family. I’m sooo happy that I have this beautiful piece to add to the room. I can’t wait to share the final reveal with everyone soon!
Do you have any suggestions for other pieces that would look great in the room?
