5 Favorites: Stationery
I‘ve had an incredible obsession with stationery and greeting cards ever since I can remember, perhaps inspired by the seemingly endless collection of cards my mother stashed. I thought it odd at the time, how she’d buy a card without a pending event or recipient. Instead, she would discerningly leaf through displays at the stationery shop, selecting and purchasing cards that would lie in wait for the perfect occasion.
I now do the same. I purchase a fistful of cards nearly every time I’m at my favorite shop, knowing the day will come that my selections will be perfectly suited to a future occasion. Sometimes it’s difficult to seal them in their envelopes to be sent away; I get quite attached to the designs and witty quips. I’m currently hoarding one card in particular, one that’s burning a hole in my desk drawer. I am desperate to send it to its decided and eventual recipient, but alas, the time has not come quite yet. I won’t include that particular card in my list of favorites, (though it by far tops the list), so as not to spoil its pending reveal. (I’m talking to you, Jenn Wong). Here are my five favorite cards I’ve sent over the course this year:
