At Home: Hip Digs for a Hip Kid

Designing rooms for little ones is probably about the most fun you can have when working in the interiors industry. Who wouldn’t love a chance to indulge their inner child and create a room that your seven-year-old self would have gone crazy for? Well thanks to Move LifeStyle and Land of Nod, I was lucky enough to design a kid’s room for the adorable son of one of the fabulous on-line editors. When approached with the opportunity, I immediately knew my go-to spot just had to be Land of Nod. Looking for modern, spirited and pretty ageless pieces for the kiddos? Well, Land of Nod is the place. I must admit, I even use their lighting and beds in ‘adult’ spaces too; they’re that good! So naturally, I turned to this trusted brand to give a vivacious, inquisitive, hip, caring little man the vibrantly mod room he deserves. It was key to use pieces with clean lines to keep a modern slant that was still youthful enough for a three year old, but wouldn’t be dated even when he is a pre-teen, because who really wants to have to redo the kiddo’s rooms every two years? Contemporary but not trendy, color mixed with calm, and total functionality drove our selection of furnishings as you can see below.

Enjoy this sneak peak of some of the goodies that will comprise this cool room. I am excited for you all to see how these modern and clean pieces create a fresh young space that my favorite little guy can grow into. And hopefully be as hip as he is. Stay tuned to see the big reveal. For more inspiration, visit our At Home: Little Ones board on Pinterest.
